Spot cleaning hamster cages daily

Dwarf hamster cages(and all rodent cages) should be spot cleaned daily.This does not mean you have to take all the bedding out and wash completly though.

To spot clean a cage remove all the spilled food the hamster has  not taken to its horde and take out any wet or dirt bedding and replace with clean fresh bedding. Refill and/or  clean out the hamster dish and checkto make sure the water botle is full and if not clean out and refil it.

When you spot clean make sure not to frighten your hamster too much by taking away its horde.If the horde is hidden from sight (as it usually will be) and not spoiling leave it.Make sure to handle your hamster every day.It is also very fun to watch them run around  when they are active.
